Two of Cups and the Message I Was Afraid to Send
I asked: "Does he like me?" The Two of Cups appeared, clear and direct. My friend who was reading for me paused and suggested: "What if you asked instead, 'Am I ready to open my heart?'"
I rephrased the question and pulled again. Present moment—Two of Cups. Challenge ahead—Five of Swords. The cards weren't speaking about him at all. They were speaking about me, about the fear of rejection that ran deeper than any genuine desire to connect.
A week later, I sent him a message. Not a confession—just a simple hello, an opening. Our conversation began from a place of truth rather than expectation, and in that shift, something felt different. Not because the outcome changed, but because I had.
Lessons learned
Sometimes the cards don't answer the question we ask—they illuminate the one we need to ask instead. Before reaching out to someone we care about, it's worth asking ourselves: What am I really afraid of? And am I approaching this from a place of authentic connection, or from the fear of being left behind?
