Keeping a Tarot Journal: The Journaling Practice

Transform tarot from entertainment into a tool for personal development through reflective journaling.

Why Journal?

Tarot without reflection = entertainment. With a journal, you: - Notice patterns in cards that repeat - Compare your emotional predictions against reality weeks later - Understand your personal triggers with each card In practice, begin with the position's job, then let the card image sharpen the answer.

Simple Journal Template

After each reading on Melaap, record: 1. Date + question 2. Card and position 3. Emotion at the moment of drawing (1–10) 4. One-sentence insight 5. Small action (if applicable)

Melaap stores your reading history — use the Notes section in the History panel to add your entries.

Review After 30 Days

Each month, revisit 4–5 of your older readings. Ask yourself: - Which cards appeared most frequently? - Which questions came up repeatedly? - Did I act on the insights I received? When several cards repeat a theme, treat the pattern as emphasis rather than certainty.

Journal + Reader Sessions

Bring your journal to a session with a Reader — they can spot patterns you might miss. The Melaap community encourages sharing your stories (once reviewed) through the Submit Your Story form. For a cleaner reading, translate the symbol into one observable choice or behavior.
