Asking Tarot Questions the Right Way

Your question determines 80% of the quality of a single reading.

Open vs. Closed Questions

| Type | Example | Result | |------|---------|--------| | Closed (avoid) | "Will I get the job?" | Tarot struggles to answer, easy to misinterpret | | Open (recommended) | "What do I need to prepare for this opportunity?" | Provides actionable guidance |

The 3-Part Formula

1. Topic: love / career / personal growth 2. Perspective: "what I need to know" / "what I'm avoiding" 3. Time (optional): "in the coming month" / "in this current phase"

Example: "In my current relationship, what am I avoiding acknowledging?"

Questions About Others

Tarot reads best when asking about yourself within a relationship, not controlling others.

Instead of "What does he think about me?" → "What do I need to understand about how I'm showing up in this relationship?"

When Not to Ask

  • Repeating the same question multiple times in a day
  • Medical or legal questions as a replacement for professionals
  • Questions about strangers or unrelated people

Asking the right question is a skill. The more you practice, the more useful tarot becomes.
